Specify Interval Units bug (255 max)

In Excel 2013 I'm trying to specify the interval unit between labels on the x-axis to 1440 but it will not allow me to enter any number higher than 255.  Is there a way to change this?

"compile error in hidden module:link" on mac 365

Every time I open and close MS Word with the current version of 365 (July 2016), I get the following error message:

"compile error in hidden module:link"

Once launched MS Word functions as usual. It is annoying to see the error. Suggestions on how to fix this. I've looked through the forums and have only found Windows related solutions and those back to MS Word 2013.

Thank you…

Digitally Signed Word 2013 Document can be modified in SharePoint 2013 document library, without invalidating Digital Signatures.

  1. i created SharePoint 2013 Document library named "Issue Vouchers"
  2. i designed a template for my library with an empty signature line.
  3. My template contains various "Document Properties" embedded in document template as quick fields. Document properties can only be edited by Library Admin.

Following is the process that has enabled editing of my signed document in SharePoint 2013

  1. As a result of workflow activity document was generated in accordance with template(with an empty signature line) in my SharePoint Document library "Issue Vouchers".
  2. User was emailed automatically to sign a concerned Issue Voucher.
  3. User signed that document.
  4. But when as a library admin i edit one of my document properties in Sharepoint 2013 Library (that are reflected as quick feilds in a document) it should immediatly invalidate digital signatures . But that residing document with reflected changes is perfectly validating digital signatures for that issue voucher.

which i think is impossible as SharePoint does not have access to private keys of Active Directory Users. or document properties are not used while generation of its md5 hash.

Is it a bug or It is meant to work that way???

ArchiveIgnoreLastModifiedTime registry setting in shared activation of Office 365 Pro Plus, Outlook 2013

I added ArchiveIgnoreLastModifiedTime registry key described at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2553550 in order to archive Outlook items ignoring the last modified time and restarted the computer to make sure the registry change applies, but Outlook still does not archive accordingly. For instance, I choose to archive all items older than 1/1/2016 in Deleted Items folder and its subfolders, but archiving takes a few seconds and I can see a lot of items still in Deleted Items folder that are older than the mentioned above date. How do I fix this?

Outlook 2013 slow keying in response

I'm having problems with slow response to the keyboard when I'm replying/creating messages in Outlook 2013, also slow response to screen updates generally, for example if a menu overlays the message window, when the menu closes it takes awhile to disappear from the message window it was overlaying.

Thought it was just this computer but also tried it on another one with a very different hardware configuration, same problem.

Doesn't happen in Excel or Word 2013.

Attachments getting stripped from emails

Greetings all. I have a weird issue that I am not sure what the issue is. I have a purchasing manager that is trying to send PO's (Purchase Orders) to companies and the end user is saying that they get the email but the PO is not attached. I believe that the purchasing manager is currently on Outlook 2013 which can be updated to 2016 enterprise. We are a fully hosted O365 customer.

I have asked her to log into OWA and send the PO attachments and see if that works. So, I am in the early stages of troubleshooting this but wanted to get the Iron hot in the forum fire early for anyone who has seen this and found a solution.

Thanks,

Matt

Outlook is trying to retrieve data from the Microsoft Exchange server outlook.office365.com

Hi all,

Some of our clients are having issues with Outlook 2013 and Office 365.

As per the title, when a user is trying to print an email or open a PDF inside an email, they are getting this error.

I have submitted a ticket to MS, but the response I got was it is MY network problem.

The users access their mail via a Citrix Netscaler site, which launches a XenApp shared desktop on a terminal server which has Outlook installed. All of our environment is 100% hosted in AWS.
To confirm that it wasn`t an issue within our AWS environment, I had the users turn on logging on a physical PC and access their mail this way.

Meaning, that it is a totally different network. However, they still get the same issue.

I have run into a wall with the MS support person as they keep saying it is my network.

I am looking for some advice as to what I can try next to identify where the issue is.

Looking forward to some meaningful feedback.

OST in Outlook 2013

Hi

We had an IMAP account in Outlook 2013 for one of our users. Now we need to extract data from OST file sincer there has been some difficulties on a server, and user misses some data that are stored in local cache copy (OST).

We try to add the same ost file to IMAP account but Outlook doesn't recognize it. So I try 3rd party tools to recover OST data  but all are quite expensive. Are there any way to restore data from OST without paying for 3rd party tools ?

In Outlook 2010 there was a PST file that can be accessed via Outlook, now we have to deal with OST like in Exchange envritonment, really great if something goes wrong ...

Excel 2016 Freezing / Lock up.

All,

Looking for some professional guidance here.  We refreshed our PCs from Office 2007 to Office 365 approximately 6 months ago and we've had relatively few issues with the transition.

However, I have three users who routinely have issues with Excel 2016 freezing or locking up.  Sometimes the fix is to move to another worksheet, then back to the original worksheet within that workbook.  Other times it takes a reboot / recovery.

Here are the PC specs:

Machine 1:
- Dell M4800 / WIN7 x64 / i7 processor and 16 GB RAM.

Issue/Attempted Resolution:

~ 1 Month ago I installed the x64 O365 version. I recently followed up with him and he’s had much better performance, but it still sporadically locks up.

Size: +- 33K

# Workbook Pages: 3-4

External Linked Data: No

He said that Excel froze, his work-around was to click out of the worksheet he was in, then click back into the desired worksheet. He said this happens while working on the NAS-based Excel files and local PC based Excel files.  None of these files are much larger than 35K, nor do they contain external links to other data sources.

Machine 2:
- HP 8570P / WIN7 x86 / i5 processor and 4 GB RAM.

Issue:

Since the machine is WIN7 x32 I installed "First Release," but the same situation as above still plagues his mostly local Excel files.

Machine 3:
- Dell M4800 / WIN7 x64 / i7 processor and 16 GB RAM.

Issue:

Office 365: 16.0.6741.2071 (32-Bit).  When using Macros, worksheet freezes and right-arrow key causes spreadsheet to lock up.

I've already performed the recommended fixes, but to no avail:

- Updated Windows / Office Suite.
- Disabled all Add-ins.
- Ran Quick Repair  and Online Repair.
- Installed latest SEP 12.1.7004.6500 w/ latest definitions.

Key Note: All users are heavy into formulas and macros, but the workbook sizes are relatively small ~35K.  There are no major complaints from any of the regular "small-time" Excel users.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Why did Word on Office 2013 REMOVE Auto Correct from Right-Click Context Menu??

Hi Microsoft -

I normally don't rant, but this is a killer feature removal, and the reason given is for aesthetics - 'Removal of clutter" is how it's worded here:

[Changes in Office 2013]
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc178954(en-us).aspx

I copy n pasted below the operative row from the linked TechNet page as to the reason WHY this critical (and very popular feature) has been removed from Microsoft Office 2013 Word's context-menu: LESS CLUTTER

And your answer is ambiguous and doesn't solve the issue that you created to make things prettier: "Click the AutoCorrect Options button" Then what?  ADD EACH WORD MANUALLY?

Please advise ALL OF US that want this feature back how to have our commonly misspelled words fixed and added automatically to the dictionary.  If I am missing this in a major way somehow, I apologize completely and will issue a public apology via any social media platform of your choice.  If it really is gone, and I have to manually add the entries into a buried table 6-clicks deep, then I will issue a public excoriation of this feature on as many social platforms of my choice.

Sincerely,

Maximus Mednick

COPY N PASTE AS FOLLOWS:

Modifying the feature

Auto-Correct and certain formatting tools are no longer available from the spelling error context menu.

To make Word 2013 cleaner and less cluttered, we removed AutoCorrect and certain formatting tools from the spelling error context menu. The features are still available in Word 2013 through other entry points within the Word user interface.

Less clutter in the spelling error context menu. This enables users to find popular commands more quickly. In addition, the spelling error context menu now fits better on the screen.

To change AutoCorrect options, do the following:

  1. Choose File -> Options -> Proofing

  2. Choose the AutoCorrect Options button.

Office 2016 Activation dialog appears every time an Office app starts

$

The "Let's get started" dialog pops open every time an Office program is started, for every user who logs in, even though it is already activated.

This is a domain machine with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and Office 2016 Standard volume license version installed, and was successfully activated via a MAK key. How can I keep the wizard from running for all users?

The machine is a new ThinkPad, that originally had a trial version of Office 2016 on it. I uninstalled that via the Control Panel, as well as uninstalling the Get Office app from the Start menu, before rebooting and installing the volume license edition. A second new ThinkPad, prepared the same way, shows the same symptom. However, on legacy Win10 machines I do not see the issue after installing the same Office 2016 version and activating them.

Any suggestions as to how I can get rid of the "try-buy-activate" prompt at startup?

Thanks...

Powerpoint was unable to open or save this document.

I have an issue with Powerpoint 2013, the error is reporting "PowerPoint was unable to open or save this document. Please ensure that you have access privileges to read or write the document and that it is not encrypted" this error is only presenting itself if a table that has been created with a default template is edited using the "Chart Filters" tool.

I am using Office 365 ver 15.0.4859.1002 on 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise

Can anyone point me in the direction of what may be causing this?

Many thanks.

E4 license continues to remove itself

I have a user that we created a Remote Mailbox in Exchange 2010 and after replication, it synced to Office 365. After the account synced, I assigned an E4 license to the user's account. Within a few hours, the user was no longer able to access his email from the client nor from webmail. I checked the user's license in Office 365 and the license had been removed and the user did not have any license assigned to his account. I, again, assigned an E4 license to the user and again, within a few hours, the license had removed itself. What the heck is going on?

Send to OneNote 2013 splits pages

Hello

I am using OneNote 2013 but I have a problem. When I print PDF files via Send to OneNote 2013 it splits pages one by one. I don't want this. I want my whole document on one place like in OneNote 2010. How can I fix this? I can manually fix 5-10 pages cut& paste method, but I can't do that on documents which has more than 100 pages.

Also it is not saving to my save location, instead it creates a page named "Printout" and saves all pages as subpages one by one.

Black Block on the daily task list in Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016

We use the daily task list all the time and drag and drop tasks into the next days to re-prioritize our work.  Since I upgraded to 2013 (and it also happens in 2016) a black block appears on the daily task list and I am unable to see any of the tasks. The block seems to "jump" between days but is on today's tasks most of the time.  Anyone knows how to solve this?
