Excel 2016 - Unresponsive and stops displaying options

Hi

We're using Office 2016 and all of the users are having an issue in Excel whereby the program becomes unresponsive, you click on the "File" button and all the options are not displayed.  You click a cell and type, but nothing stays in the cell or shows, your lucky if you can even see the workbook as well as the options.  The only way to get Excel working again is to quit and start Excel again.

We've tried re-installing but the issue just comes back. (We are using Windows 10 and 64 bit Excel).

All drivers are up to date

New SSD with a fresh install of Windows 10 - Same issue

All updates are installed


Outlook email search/indexing issue

Hello all,

I have a client who is experiencing some odditites in his Outlook, from Microsoft Office 15.0.4787.1002

The issue is that even after we have indexed this user's email a couple of times, he still can't search for any recent emails. Whether we reindex his Outlook or not he can only search for emails that are up to a five or seven days old, anything newer than that will not appear in his search.

I know there was a fix-it repair tool for older versions of Outlook, but it seems that reindexing tool has been replaced by just deselecting Outlook from being indexed and then reselect it. But we have done precisely that (checking in Task Manager to make certain that Outlook had finished closing) a few times and he is still incapable of searching for recent emails.

It isn't like he can only search up to the most recently indexed emails from several days ago either. Without reindexing his Outlook he will be able to find emails in his search that he couldn't find the previous day,he just has to wait a day for those newer emails to become at least five days old.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and does anyone know of a fix? Prefferably one that doesn't involve deleting and recreating his entire account.

I've had the pleasure of going through all the help questions and frankly speaking i'm a little disappointed as to the quality of answers. You might as well be automated bots referring us to one help link that refers us to another help link. But before i pass a final judgement i decided to share my issue with OUTLOOK 2013 'Sending but not Receiving' Case. 

Let me share with you the parameters in the form of a  brief and perhaps one of your engineers will be able to assist:

PROBLEM: Email is sending but not receiving.

ACCOUNT TYPE: POP3

HISTORY & SIMULATION: 

1. Account was previously working just fine. Just fine = Sends & Recieves

2. Suddenly I open OUTLOOK 2013 and informs me the .pst file is not opening

3. Long story short - I decide to uninstall OUTLOOK 2013 and Re-install.

4. Newly Installed Outlook opens again asking me for the .pst of my previous account. 

5. After assigning the .pst file it informs it is not working. 

6. I delete all data files 

7. I setup a new account

8. Test of account works

9. I click finish

10. I do not receive the TEST Account Email?

11. I send an email from the account to an external email x.gmail address - the email is sent - progress bar was active

12. I confirm receiving the email from the external account x.gmail

13. I send an email to myself - the email is sent - progress bar was active

14. I go to a web panel of my email and confirm that the server received the email - Outlook however does not receive.

15. When clicking on sending and receive the progress bar remains blank - no message, no error, nothing. 

16. I send an email from an external email x.gmail to my outlook setup account - email is sent but not received.

All emails send to my assigned outlook account is received on my mobile, as well as the server web mail. But not outlook. Again, the account successfully passed the account test provided by OUTLOOK. 

Solve it, and .... well you get a happy customer. Don't solve it, and... well you owe me $120. 

... Lastly... if you can't solve it and for some mystical reason and IT teenager does, please send me the number of you VP Operations so I can gladly forward the young kids CV --> God know's he deserve one of your chairs.

issue with ms Office 365!

Hi,

I have office365 installed on an RDS 2012 R2. As soon as one of the RDS user open a ms word file from a shared drive he get the following message: Word Could Not Create Work File. Check The Temp Environment Variable Error And Then word cannot save changes to the global template because it was opened with read only access. We tried to follow this kb (https://support.microsoft.com/fr-fr/kb/2285187) but we still have the issue.

Any help from you would be appreciate<o:p></o:p>

not able to print select pages within a document

Good afternoon all.

I'm having a problem printing select pages within a word document.

We're using Office 2013, on Win7Pro.

I have a 40 page document, and the last 20 pages are all images--- none of which I need for this part of my work.

I only need ten pages, from the middle of the document.

I've tried printing several times, and it's not happening. I went and got our IT mgr, and he wasn't able to get it either. So, we finally printed the whole document.

I just spoke with our Doc. Control person, and she's never heard of this either, and has never had this problem.

While the company doesn't appear to be bothered wasting paper, it seems odd that this is happening, because I'd never had it happen before. I've always been able to print any range of pages within a document.

As this is a facility where we regularly have documents upwards of 200-400 pages, having this issue is not a productive one. Does anyone have any ideas?

Client's email missing Categorize section

Hello all,

We recently had to set a client of ours up with a new email. We've got everything set up in Outlook, he's receiving and sending email fine, all of that is working perfectly fine.

My question is about Outlook itself. We have both of his accounts, new and old, currently plugged in to Outlook. When he is browsing his old email he has an option up in the ribbon called Categorize that lets him flag his emails. When we click ove to his new email the ribbon has all the same options EXCEPT for that one.

We went to Options > Customize Ribbon and then tried to add the Categorize command, but we kept getting errors saying that we could only add commands to custom groups.

Am I able to customize his new emails existing Ribbon? Or am I going to have to make a new one and slap in all the existing commands plus Categorize?

Changes to digitally signed message: what to do?

Hi All,

in the last days Outlook prompts me this message:

outlook digitally signed certificate

This message continuously appears when i move from one message to the other in the Inbox, even if I select "YES".

The inbox folder contains only digitally signed messages, so how can I understand at which email it refers to?

Hello! I have a issue with copying\pasting images in OneNote.

Example: I have an image on OneNote page. Then i copy or cut image to clipboard. When i try to paste image to any OneNote page,only blank space inserts instead of copied image. 

When i try to paste the same copied image from onenote to paint or word, for example, it works nice.

Copying\pasting from word\paint to onenote works nice. Text copied as expected.  

Only copying fromOneNoteto the same OneNote app fails regardless of OneNote page\notebook.. 

OneNote 2013 (15.0.4535.1507) 32bit.


Issues activating MS Office 2013 against KMS

I have a unique problem\situation here.

I discovered that my MS Office clients were not activating. I was able to implement a powershell script (rearm+ OSSP.vbs /act) to activate Office after my SCCM task sequence completed, so it's resolved. However I discovered that clients that weren't activating Office, were able to activate seconds after they were moved to a different OU in AD. In my environment all OUs have the same policy applied. Can somoene explain how or why this is happening?

When a person logs into Office 365's OWA and creates a distribution list of their personal contacts will that then show up in their Outlook client? We are a fully hosted O365 Enterprise customer with no on prem exchange. We have some folks that are not seeing it in the client after creating the DL.

Message sending failures Exchange online

I have a 300-seat Exchange 2010 Hybrid setup.

Most users are still on-premises but around 50 are now migrated. All used cached mode.

I have an intermittent issue with a few of the online users, when email does not clear from the outbox. It's always a message with an attachment that stops the queue - they are usually Office documents or PDF's. They are not large documents, usually less than 1Mb (our outgoing limit is 30Mb), and although the error message says "the server cannot be reached just now" this is clearly not true because plain-text messages in the same queues always go through right away if the message with the attachment is removed or deactivated.

The client software is in some cases Office 2013 and in others Office 2016 ProPlus, patched up to date in either case.

The client OS is either Win7 or Win8.1.

Connectivity might be wired LAN, WLAN, or 4G.

Can anyone think of a possible reason?

Hi,

Application access 2013 (win 7 64 bits), I have a macro.

In this macro, the condition holds a call to a vba function.

For this to work using access 2007, registry must hold 

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Access Connectivity Engine\Engines]

"SandboxMode"=dword:00000000

We are using access 2013, so I set the sandboxmode to 0 in

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Access Connectivity Engine\Engines]

But it doesn't work. App work on dozens of computers (access 2003->2016, all windows versions) but the ones with access 2013 don't work! Why Why why?

Office 2013 Professional with Service Pack 1 crashes

Hi,

My Office 2013 suite continuously crashes on Windows 10 (Build 1607) if I open the document directly. I have tried on 3 different brand new laptops. Always have to open the application Run as administrator

I am domain administrator and have complete administrator rights on laptop. Installed all the required Office 2013 updates & security fixes as well

But I am the one that added the folder.

And I am the administrator

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033\Access.

on start up I see my recent files with paths to files.

under "Personal" and "Featured".

I see "Blank desktop database"   and  "Custom Web App"

 and underneath those.

I do have a file in my "PERSONAL" templates   and other files I created in my "Featured" tempates along with many of Microsoft "templates".

Assign license for a Service Plan in O365 without removing what may be assigned

Need some help...

I need to be able to assign a license for a particular Service Plan (SP) - lets say Office 365 ProPlus for this example - to all users. However, SOME users may already have various Service Plans assigned - Yammer or Sharepoint Online, for this example.

From what I have read and tried, I can assign the Office 365 SKU but that gives them access to all Service PLans under that SKU. I can also give then the O365 License, and then DIASBLE everything except O365 ProPlus. This would, of course, also remove any Yammer or SharePoint Online SP they may have enabled.

In my head, i think the answer is to grab all SPs assigned to them, throw it in an array, and then clear everything and add them back from the array with the addition of O365 ProPlus.

That correct? and is it the best way? There doesnt seem to be a way to simply give a certain SP in an additive way...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Need to Remove Phishing Emails from Office 365 Mailboxes

I manage several thousand Office 365 mailboxes and need to remove hundreds of instances of a recently received phishing email.  I think I need to create a mailbox content search in the O365 UI, and then use PowerShell to do the actual cleanup, but I'm not sure how to do either.  Does anyone have detailed steps for removing a phishing email from a large number of O365 mailboxes?

How to increase size of Quick Steps box?

I have some users that like the quick steps.  They have so many that the four column view is too small.  

Is there a way to increase the box beyond the four columns?
