Office 365 with Active directory ONPREM

Hello,  

I am planing to do dirsync with office 365....

my question is as my Active directory is internal LAN...

what configuration i need to do on active directry so that it can talk to office 365 Online

Do i need to add another adapter in my VM active directory and expose that on internet...

this is purely a lab setup so i can expose it on internet....But how would i make sure that external traffic should go out via new adpater and internal traffic thru internal adaptor....

or is there any other way to achieve this..

Excel crash - dmp file info

Hello,

We run Office 2013 Std in Citrix and it occasionally crashes when users click on file open, I managed to grab the dmp file, but it only shows this, does it mean anything to your and if not what else can I do, If has been reinstalled and had all the latest updates too.  After a server reboot all is ok again.

can't right-click a new file

I could create a new file with a right click 

but now only notepad etc are offered there 

what's wrong?

Visio 2013 Import Wizard Issue

We have a Visio 2013 floor plan that utilizes an Excel spreadsheet to populate the data for each cubicle.  We use "Import Data" to do this.  At the end of the Import Data wizard, a messages is displayed saving "To view the complete report, click on the link below" however, there is no report at the location given.  The path that the link is going to is C:\Users\<user name>\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\EOH2UTFG\5P2N3X92.xml.

Maximum active licenses

hi, I'm looking at a user's Office 365 account portal .. 

It say's he can have up till 5 active office at the same time.. and if he exceeds he needs to deactive one.

and just underneath that I'm looking at 10. active office installations on 10 devices..
So I'm puzzled.. and scared Microsoft suddenly will charge my users half a billion.

Must reactivate office after Win10 upgrade.

I have performed a handful of Win10 upgrades from Win7 recently and each time I have had to provide the login info for the MS account associated with the license and then it wants me to choose the correct installation from a non-descript list(just says MS Office 2013 H&B however many times) of the installs on that account.  I work for a small company and we made individual purchases for each of our Office installs approx. 75 licenses.  I could only associate 30 licenses to a given email address so I had to obviously register 3 email addresses to account for all of the purchased licenses.  I can't remember in which order they were installed and I'm sure at some point I am going to come across a situation were the license on the PC isn't the one I choose from the list and the activation will fail.  Also the office shows the username of the registered MS account rather than the logged in user.  

3 questions:

1. Why do I have reactivate after the upgrade? 

2. Is there a way around having to activate a product that is already activated (no other SW on my machines requires reactivation).

3. If I can't get around it, is there a better way to manage the licenses associated with my three MS accounts?  Like list the product key so I can match them up.

Outlook 2013 and missing Attachment icon

In the Sent Items (IMAP) folder, the attachment icon (i.e. the paper-clip) does not appear in the Attachment column for saved e-mails that have attachments. This is not a problem for other folders though. Any ideas?

[Resolved] Workaround for MS Office frequent reconfiguration/reinstallation problem.

On my installation of Windows 10 every time I run MS Office Word or Excel, I have to wait for the program to reinstall itself for some reason.  I went through the thread regarding this issue, in which a number of "fixes" for this are given, but none have worked for me.  But I found something that does work for me, however inelegant it might initially appear. 

I open/install the program (Word and/or Excel) once, then write "TEST" on the first line and then save it into the DESKTOP directory.  I relabel the icon that now appears on the desktop with the simple program name and start every session in which I need the program, whether it be creating a new doc or opening an existing one using the extant TEST Word or Excel icon.  No reinstallation necessary.

Is there a way from power shell, I'm an 0365 admin.

File - Share - Email - Send As Attachment - No Read Receipt Gets Requested

When I am working on an Excel spreadsheet or Word document and do File - Share - Email - Send As Attachment there is no Read Request submitted that I can use for Tracking to see who has read my email.  I use Office 2013 with Exchange 2013 and am sending to Internal users.  If I create a new email message and then do Attach File, a Read Request is created and I can view tracking information once a user reads the email.  Why would a Read Request no be created when doing File - Share - Email?

Using Office 365 ADMX to control updates - is it the same as using a registry key?

We are attempting to control updates by using the Office 365 ADMX files. We previously created a registry key that points to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\office\15.0\common\officeupdate but now we are using the ADMX option for the update location.

My questions is what is the ADMX file doing differently than the registry key. After the GPO is applied with the ADMX update setting I don't see the same registry key with the update location. Does the ADMX option apply a different setting? We are trying to confirm that the GPO was applied successfully and was wondering what registry key is changed when the ADMX update option is applied.

Outlook 20013 multiple login credentials

Hi there,

One my network I have 1 computer recently upgraded from Win 7 x64 to Win 10 x64 having a problem with Outlook 2013 (Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013 (15.0.4815.1002)).

It´s connected to Exchange 2010 (SBS). Couple times a day the login credential windows pops up and by typing the correct user/pass isn´t sufficient. It´s enough restarting Outlook but that´s quite annoying.

I´ve tried several methods (found e.g. on this forum and with other search engines) but none of them have worked so far.
There are the things I´ve tried:

1. Unchecked "Download shared folders" under Advanced, Server Settings
2. Logon network security "Anonymous Authentication" from Negotiate Authentication
3. Delete all keys in both "Web Credentials" and in "Window Credentials"
4. Tried changing the user´s domain password
5. Unchecked "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" in Connections
6. Deleted the Outlook Profile and created a new one

Am I running out of options or is there any way to fix this situation?

calculated field in form access 2013 is not updated

I have two fields in a subform that are to be used in a third field in a subtraction. The control source is

=([Eindtijd]-[Starttijd])

This works only when the data from the two fields are taken from the tabel. It is not working after filling in the two fields.It work in Access 2007.

Word crashes also related to April 2016 update

We have been experiencing the Skype and Outlook crashes mentioned in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3158521, but we are also seeing a number of Word crashes, particularly on exit. All crashes reference mso.dll. Below is an example. Is this likely to be related to the April 2016 update? The problem started happening around the same time.

Apple QuickTime and PowerPoint

Given the recent announcementthat Apple will no longer update QuickTime for Windows, we are starting a campaign to uninstall it from our workstations. We received some feedback that some people need to keep QT so they can create/view PowerPoint presentations with QuickTime videos. One user said he is prompted to download QT if it's not installed.

I have been testing this on a PC without QT installed, and have no problems inserting, saving, and viewing PPTs with QT videos with various encoding. From what I can tell, QT support is now built in to Windows Media Player and thus Office.

Most of our users have Office 2013 and O365. There are some lingering 2010s.

Could anyone point me to documented requirements for QuickTime support in PowerPoint? Thanks.

Making DOTM Dynamic

Hi everybody,

I have the following problem:

Our CMS uses DOCX files as templates, containig variables and Text. These templates also contain the letterhead information and layout.

Since the letterhead tends to change from time to time, we would like to merge layout and content every time, a template is used. Thus, the letterhead and layout could be changed in one file and hundreds of template files would use the new layout immediately.

Is there a function in Word providing this procedure?

Access 2013 operating extremely slow switching from design mode

Access 2013 is working extremely well at runtime, however development is substantially more time consuming due to a prolonged delay (up to several minutes) when moving a query from design view to datasheet view, or a form from design view to form view. I have experienced this delay with standalone databases as well as databases with linked tables to other Access database tables and with SQL server database tables. I have never experienced this type of delay with prior versions of Access. I most recently migrated from Access 2010 to Access 2013. 

MY OS is Windows 7  64 bit.  Microsoft Office 2013 is the fully installed 32 bit version.  I have 16 gigs of RAM on my desktop with a NVIDIA Quadro 2000 display card, all my applications are designed to run locally.

Outlook 2013 : how to search mail on network archive pst file

hi, 

i have a RDS farm 2012 (no R2) with outlook 2013 installed on all session. The client is configured for exchange 2010 SP3 cu 9 and pst archives are stored on network drive. 

Now when i search old email in search box, i check " search on all outlook elements " but i see no result. How can i set windows search for find results also on my pst archives?

Unable to convert pdf to word after installing Skype for Business

After I install Skype for business 2016, word 2013 is unable to convert pdfs to word documents. 

This is the error message I recieve "Word cannot start the converter PDF Files."

I can uninstall skype and then after word repairs it gains that feature back.

If there is a fix I need a way to apply it to many computers.

both office and skype are 32bit
