Extremely Slow File Menu Office 2013 (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), but everything else is perfect

I have Office 2013 installed on my Windows 8 (now 8.1) computer. For about three weeks, all programs in the office suite ran perfectly. However, an extremely annoying problem suddenly appeared, which has been plaguing me for the past two weeks: The file menu is EXTREMELY slow consistently across all programs in the Office 2013 suite. There's a very noticeable delay, about 2 or 3 seconds, between when I click the FILE button, and when the file menu actually appears. Similarly, all options within this menu are laggy. Typically, the program will enter an unresponsive state for those few seconds and then promptly recover. I haven't lost any data to this issue yet, but it wastes my time.

I don't have much more than the essentials installed on my computer. Drivers for my motherboard, NVidia graphics card, Office, web browser and about 6 other trusted programs.

Any and all help appreciated. Thanks.

Protective Markings

Hi Folks,

Is there away to call a dialog box with Protective markings in a drop down list, to Classify a document on "Save As"

Using Developer TAB, XML Mapping, I've added a Drop Down list with the Protective Markings and added this to the Document Footer.

However, I'd like to prompt a user when they select "SAVE AS" to re-classify the document..

I would see this as a Dialog box with a drop down selector and a short message describing the Protective Markings..

VBA is disabled by default, and I really don't want to re-enable..

Any help appreciated.

We have a Windows 10 Office 2013 user who has about 100 documents, all in docx format. Sometimes when he opens them they come up as "read only", when he closes them down and goes back in they are fine. I checked the server and no other user has these files open.

Access 2013 loaded locks out all of my Access .accdb files as READ ONLY.

Access 2013 that I obtained free as a student for a 5 week class is loaded on my MS OS 10 laptop and because of a mistake I made in downloading a DB from Blackboard for an assignment, it now locks out all of my Access .accdb files on my desktop as READ ONLY.

When I clicked on the file in Blackboard to open it, the file said it was read-only and I should make a copy of it to work on for the assignment.  I failed to notice it provided a blue string link to "save as" to do that for me.  Instead I downloaded the file planning to save it on my computer with SAVE AS in Backstage view.  That was my fatal mistake.  Now Assess has set something on my computer to make Read-Only all my Access DB files previously saved as not Read-Only and I cannot create any new DB files or do anything to modify/save any existing Access files.  My Access 2013 is now completely messed up. Reinstalling Access 2013 does not fix the problem.  What do I need to do to unlock my files so I can do my homework?

Please HELP!

MSWRD632 error in Win10/Office 2013

Hello,

A user reported that she is having the following issue when trying to save a file in Word. When saving a document in Word for example, she will get a message saying "Cannot Start MSWRD632" OR "Cannot start MSWRD832" (perhaps not the exact message as we have it in French: "Impossible de démarrer le convertisseur MSWRD832". I know this is a known problem, yet every solution found for this is either for older versions of windows, or did not work.

Windows 10 Pro x64
Office 2013

The files are present in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\TextConv\*.*
All registry fixes are either incorrect or missing (the items suggested is just not present on Win10)

The solution tool doesn't work for Windows 10. I'm really out of ideas here, how could I fix this without having to reformat the computer?
Any ideas are welcomed. Thanks!

Excel (There isn't enough memory to complete this action)

Hi,

Everytime multiple Excel spreadsheets are open we keep getting the error message saying:

There isn't enough memory to complete this action.

Try using less data or closing other applications.

To increase memory availability, consider:

- Using a 64-bit version of Microsoft Excel.

- Adding memory to your device

I have tried to increase the memory to 8GB and re-installed to 64-bit version but the application keeps doing the same thing. It freezes occasionally, blank screen appears.

What can i do to resolve this?

MS Publisher & unbelievably slow printing...

I've got a small office network, Win7 clients, 2008 SBS & a couple of network printers. The main issue here is with printing Publisher docs to an HP Color Laser jet 4600. There's a jet direct board in the printer, a 20GB EIO HD & 416 MB of ram. Documents are created in Publisher 2013, colored text & contain a couple of color photos. My 'control' doc is approx 150 MB & takes 9 minutes to get one copy to initially print. I'm pretty sure that this problem is specific to Publisher, as I can print PDFs or photos (out of Windows Photo Viewer) in a reasonable amount of time, plus google searches on the topic show tons of questions, tons of 'fixes' & tons of answers like 'that didn't work for me'. I can make a PDF of the doc & it will print nearly instantly, as the PDF is only about 9 MB, but trying toi teach old dogs (IE, customer) new tricks (IE, using a real DTP program, or even printing that to a PDF first) are sometimes easier said than done. I currently have client set up to print directly to the printer (sharing on server was even worse), tried different options, PCL vs PS driver, spooling, printing directly to the printer, but nothing seems to work! A couple of other factors to consider, which may or may not matter are there's a missing font message, which customer says 'oh, just ignore that'. Fonts all seem to print correctly, so I'm assuming this could be a space, a return, something that shouldn't matter. A real DTP (InDesign, Quark) program has the option to show missing fonts, but I'm trying to not go off on a Publisher trashing rant here. Another thing is the linked images are buried pretty deep on a network share, not sure if that's affecting it, either. Tried Publisher's option to save/collect job to take to an actual commercial printer to trouble shoot & it gave ne a copy of the doc & a PDF of it, no fonts or images, WTF?!?
So if there are any Publisher wizards out there, I am all ears!

How to handle past employees staff accounts that are linked to Office 365

Hi,

We've recently disabled two user accounts in our local Active Directory as the staff have left. They have Office 365 email and files in OneDrive for Business. My co-worker discovered that their mailboxes in Office 365 were actually deleted and had to recover them before the 30 days was up. Obviously we don't want to lose their emails/onedrive files, but how do we disable the AD accounts without affecting their Office 365 components? And why is it deleting their data instead of disabling?

Thanks.

HUGE OfficeFileCache Folder

I was over quota on my cloud backup server and finally discovered the cause. My OfficeFileCache folder has grown to an immense 48.8 GB! Here are the vitals:

Computer: Acer Aspire running an Intel Core i3

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro

Office Software: Office 365 Home Premium (version 15.0.4569.1508)

I was a regular user of SkyDrive (OneDrive) but I now use the Box cloud server instead. I do nonetheless have some less critical files still stored on OneDrive - they total 35.4 GB of data, most of which are MPEG audio files.

My Box folder contains 11.0 GB of data and these are primarily Office derived documents.

Even together, these files are not equal in size to the Cache!

What in the world is going on with the cache and how do I tame this beast?
