Office 365 Map drives ?

I've been asked by management to implement something if possible. We are a school district using office 365. What they want me to do is set it up so when a student logs in IE opens to the 365 page and maps a drive to their One Drive folder. I know how to do parts of this like opening IE to a certain page. I've looked at manually mapping a drive to the one drive. From the articles I've seen it looks like thats possible but for group police map drives options it generally uses the users AD account or you can specify use this account. Since with One drive the login is ever persons individual email address is this even possibly to automate?

Outlook 2013 Pro frequently crashes and intermittently deletes email

How can I fix this?

I've tried repairing without success from: Control Panel/Programs and Features/Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013.

I've tried re-installing, disabling Auto Archive and Microsoft Office Communicator, and running in Safe Mode without success.

I've now enabled logging following this: http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/300479#appliesto

The same error keeps coming up for the Spooling Cycle:

When the program crashes, it shows as Not Responding for 30sec to 1min, saves my daily draft email in Drafts, and deletes any email stuck in the Outbox.  I know when it will delete the email now because it sits in the Outbox for too long.  If I hit Send/Receive the application will crash and delete the email without sending or moving it to Deleted Items, Junk Email, my OST, or any other folder.  The 2nd time I lost the daily email (showing tickets I've worked on), I saw the problem about to occur, copied the email, but was unable to paste it to Word or Notepad after Outlook crashed.  It cleared my Windows clipboard as well.  Of course, since enabling logging it hasn't crashed to show me what's happening (2 hrs, usually would have happened by now).

Onenote in RDP enviroment

Hello,

I am Running OneNote 2013 an I have a remote desktop connection to Server 2008R2, nut when I print to the Send to Onenote 2013 (redirected printer) I receive the following error from Onenote "Onenote can't do this action while a dialog windows is open. we're sorry". I only receive this error if I am printing from the remote desktop, from the local machine it works fine. I do not have any dialog boxes open except the error message & the normal prompt you get when printing to Onenote. I receive the same error weather Onenote is running at time of printing or not. I am running the latest version of both Onenote & RDP client. Any suggestions would be appreciate.

Running Office 2013 under application verifier

As a security measure, I run many programs under Application Verifier. As exploits, by definition, rely on bugs, my intention is that Application Verifier will force the program to crash long before successful RCE begins.

However, if I try to run any part of Office 2013 ( e.g. Word ), Word will crash long before the UI even initializes. Is/was Office tested under Application Verifier?

How might I use it as such?

Yes, I expect crashes. I happily file bug reports whenever I can.

Unspecifiend error - clearing Content Control box references

I'm creating a template where fields can be repeated throughout it. I've used the content control box in the developer tab.  Booked mark the first and cross referenced all the others to the primary bookmark.

Was all working fine, but now something has happened and I'm getting the following error.

Unspecified error

Location: Part: /word/document.xml, Line:2, Column: 0

So at first the error was with /header2.  So I deleted the headers and that removed the error, however all my content control boxes no longer reference the primary bookmark.

I've gone and re-booked mark, and re-referenced the content control boxes and works in the doc, save and then when I re-open no longer works.

Need some help.  Only thing I am doing is changing the font of the content control box after it's refreshed to align with the section it is, but I can't see how that would impact anything.

Word 2013 - Can you change Highlight Color of Selected Text

I've searched everywhere and can't find how to change the color of the Highlighting of the "Selected" text in Word 2013 (Windows 8.1 OS). Somehow it was changed form light grey to black with white text. Does anyone know how to do this??? Is it possible???

missing FROM field in Outlook for MAC with Exchange Online connected accounts

we are using several connected accounts in Exchange Online. if we conntect wich OUTLOOK for Windows, these accounts are choosable by FROM field in case aof an new email to be sent. Not so in OUTLOOK for MAC

Any good ideas?

OneDrive GPO to set sync location

We are in the process of transitioning to Office 365. We have already deployed Office 2013 to our end users. Even after the migration we plan on leaving Office on machine for users who need to use it or for those that refuse to use a webpage. We want to use OneDrive Pro to sync docs from a users workstation to their OneDrive account. We don't want to redirection their My Docs or anything like that.

What we had in mind was creating a folder for each user probably in their profile that can be used to sync just the docs they want to OneDrive. When you open OneDrive for the first time you get a Which Library do you want to sync dialog box. Also in Word or other Office products when you go to Save As and select OneDrive the user has to login, which cause the Which Library do you want to sync dialog box to popup. We will be using a mix of Windows 7 and 8 machines.

Is there anyway to preconfigure OneDrive so all of that is seamless to the end user? We don't want them to have to know the URL and all of that for this to work.

HKCU\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\OFFICE\15.0 is empty for non local admin and poulated for local admin

When I look at this key while a local admin is logged in, I see serveral sub keys for all the different office apps.  However, when I look at the same key for a non-local admin user, there is hardly anything in this key.  Should I be looking somewhere else for normal users registry keys?

We need to make registry changes to resolve some problems, but the changes are only taking affect for admin users and not normal users.

Account Error without Office 365 subscription in a domain environment

Hi,

All of our domain users are getting an "ACCOUNT ERROR" message (exclamation mark inside a triangle on top right of window).  We are in a domain environment with office installed locally on each user's workstation and we do not subscribe to office 365.  Also, when attempting to sign-out, it says: "We can't remove windows account."

Any suggestions on how to fix this (other than subscribing to office 365)?

Licencing Office 365 on Remote Desktop Services

So I am looking to move to Office 365 in the near future instead of just renewing my SA against Office standard.

I read somewhere that in order to continue to be able to clone these installs as part of my Terminal Server rollout, I need to purchase at least on Office licence on SA.

This is to allows access to the .ISO file and KMS licence. To keep compliant, the rest I will purchase via Office 365.

Does that sound about right and can I use Office 365 Mid Business as the version or does it have to be Pro?

Some Word Files will not open on Windows Server 2012R2

I have identical versions of Word 2010 on two different computers. One is Windows 7, and one is Windows Server 2012R2. The Win 7 is my primary writing machine but sometimes I  need to open a Word file on the other machine.

Some of the files open fine on Windows2012 machine, but some give me an error:

"Word experienced an error trying to open the file." It then makes some suggestions for things to try, including Repair as I am opening the file, but none of these suggestions work. I keep getting the same error.

I cannot see what is different between the files that open fine and the files that give this error.

They all open fine on the Windows 7 machine.

I have tried do a full Repair on Microsoft Office and then rebooting.

The normal way of sharing the files is to copy from Windows 7 to a cloud location and then downloading on the Windows 2012 machine. But I have also tried emailing the file to myself from Windows 7 and opening the email on Windows 2102. I get the same problem.

What else can I try?

"Sender name" appears as "USERA2B59218" in the message list

Hi,

When replying to or forwarding a mail located in a subfolder in legal@ (a delegated mailbox created as usermailbox) (and where UserA manually changes the sender to his own exchange account) and the sent item (from the Sent Items folder in the UserA's own mailbox) is then moved to the legal@ mailbox, the sender appears as USERA2B59218 in the message list but not in the actual mail itself.

When the mails are moved back to UserA's mailbox, the sender still appears as USERA2B59218. When checking the error in OWA, the sender first appears as USERA2B59218, but when selecting the mail, the sender is updated to the correct username (UserA).
Has anybody experienced such an issue before? It seems to me to be a sync error in the profile maybe - but would like to hear if anyone had see this before...

Setup is:
- Exchange Online
- Outlook 2013

Spell check not finding any misspelled words in both Word and Outlook

No matter what I try I cannot get spell check to recognize misspelled words in Outlook or Word.  In Outlook, even if i switch the email to plain text and mistype a word it won't find it.  Looking on the internet, I've tried the following to no avail.

1) Deleting all custom dictionaries.

2) Setting the custom dictionary to english.

3) Home-> Proofing-> Language-> Set Proofing Language…-> disable: Do not check spelling or grammar-> button Set As Default

4) Forced it to recheck the email

Is there a way to just master reset all the spell checking options to fix this?  Or something else I can try?  I tried finding a Microsoft FixIt but couldn't find one.

Excel 2013 Error - Microsoft Excel has stopped working.

Just downloaded and installed Office 2013 to my new Windows 8 machine. Every time I try to use one of the Office products I receive the following message:

Microsoft has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Lync 2013 SP1: Double-spacing in messages

Hey folks,

I just installed Microsoft Office 2013 Service Pack 1 the other day, and now I've got this weird issue where Lync conversations are double-space. This has happened with more than one person, in entirely separate conversations.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? It's really annoying that it's wasting screen real estate.

MS Outlook 2013 keeps crashing

As of today MS Outlook crashes within a minute or two of being open.  It simply says that it's looking for a resolution to the issue and then prompts me with "Microsoft will contact you at a later date when a solution is found."  Terribly infuriating.  I've installed MS Office 365 about a month ago and everything was working fine until today.  Tried restarting my Surface Pro and it didn't do anything to help the problem.
