HTML Export/Import Image Alignment

I'm having trouble importing HTML to Word whilst maintaining the formatting, most importantly in-line image alignment. When I create a document in Word and align images centrally with the text, and then export to filtered HTML, the code given is:

<span style='position : relative;top:9pt'><img ...etc></span>

This tag works perfectly in my browser. However, when I try to import the very same HTML file back into Word, Word seems to totally ignore this alignment tag and reverts to default with the image aligned with the bottom of the text.

What I really need to do is import HTML files to Word with images aligned centrally with text. Any ideas of tags/ css etc which might work?

I have Microsoft Office Professional 2010 and I'm using a Windows 8 laptop. I'd really like to upgrade to 2013 for a more seamless integration of software and functionality. 

Is there a free upgrade to office 2013 from office 2010?

User MRU

Hello,

I'm trying to find out more information about User MRU and specifically MRU's for Active Directory Users. 

Were these introduced in Office 2013?

Also

Do you know how the unique ID for each Active Directory user is created? e.g.  -AD_FDCD3F40D608189D8DEE5E446CA139BA6C1C9F56F9D336E729FC432249798A69

And

Weare using Windows 7 and are noticing that User MRUs are created for some users and not for others? Is anyone aware of MRU problems on Windows 7?

Access is truncating text when importing from Excel spreadsheet

I have been using Excel and Access 2007 to import Excel spreadsheets into Access using VB.NET. It has been working fine.

I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and Office 2013.

Now some of my fields are truncated, it appears at 255 characters. I converted an Access 2007 database and table to the new format. Set the datatype of the long fields to LongText in Access. The spreadsheet columns are configured for the long text. I delete all the current data in the Access table before I import the spreadsheet. The import completes with no errors. But the long text fields truncate. I have found that if I have a row with more than 255 characters in the long text fields in the first 25 rows, it will import without truncating. I cannot depend that the spreadsheet will always have that many characters in the first 25 rows. How can I configure Access so the long text fields will always accept the complete text? Why does Access appear to change the datatype on import? I know that Access determines the datatype when using the Excel spreadsheet import wizard by checking the first 25 rows when importing into a new table. In my testing it is doing the same thing when importing to an empty Access table, even if the table is configured for long text. I am using the Access table as a temporary table for additional processing. The text is used for reports so the text varies, in each cell, from one character to thousands of characters.

I can upload the VB.NET code if you need that information. I feel the issue is the Access database determining the datatype from the spreadsheet and not from the Access table. This probably would not be an issue if I was appending to a table that had long text in it. I just had a case where it truncated the text even when a cell has more than 255 characters in the first few rows.

Does anyone know of a way I can always import the complete text from Excel 2013 to Access 2013?

Outlook 2013 Keeps crashing and restarting

I have 2 computers running Outlook 2013. Both running Windows 8.1 64-bit, one standard and one with the Pro Pack.

Every single day outlook crashes and restarts about every 10 to 15 minutes, but only during the morning hours. Once we have been "using" it for about an hour or two, it stops.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, new profiles, and all that jazz all with no luck.

Digging through the logs i have come across these 3 errors that keep popping up:

Office Theme - Office 2013

Hi,

as on organization we are recently migrate to office 2013 from office 2007.

number of users are not happy with office 2013 theme.

instead of office 2013 theme there was quite happy with office 2007 theme.

i.e. ribbon, tabs, pane was looking good and clearly visiable.

in office 2013 there are only three themes white, grey and dark grey.

we are required this theme as like office 2007.

please provide update/fix or any link which can help us to change the theme to colour.

Outlook 2013

I've run across an odd issue that I haven't been able to resolve. In Outlook 2013, on rare occasion, (Maybe once a day), while I'm typing either a new email, or a response to an email, my name will randomly get inserted in the email, in brackets, like this - [John Smith].

I have turned off the "Preface Comments With" in the options menu, but I don't think that is the fix, as this happens rarely.  Also, I only turned it off yesterday, so I haven't given it enough time to see if it helped.

This seems like a macro or keyboard shortcut that might have gotten assigned accidentally, and hitting a key combo inserts my name, but I've checked both of those, and nothing custom has been set up.

Does anyone have any advice on what might be causing this issue to happen?  Thanks in advance for your assistance!

We have issue with office 2013, We are unable to install office 2013 below is the screen shot and error code.

Error 25004 The produet key entered cannot be used on this machine. This  is most likely due to previous office 2013 trials installed. (System error: -2147217387)

Access 2013 and requests

Hi,

We have an access database which is original from 2002
we are using it almost every day.<o:p></o:p>

To do print from the database we are using requests
and one of the parameters are always a date to type in a pop up.<o:p></o:p>

Suddenly it has started to give us missing data, and
of cause I am expecting that the date must be the problem. I could find the
data on 31-5-14 but on 1-6-14 some of the data is missing.<o:p></o:p>

I was wondering has something been changed from
Windows update or wherever?<o:p></o:p>

Printing specific draft results in "operation failed" in print preview.

I've got a user who is trying to print a draft she's working on before sending it, but printing fails.  If she does a "quick print" nothing happens.  If she uses the Print menu the print button is greyed out and the preview pane says"The operation failed."

This only happens on one specific email chain.

And once the message has been sent, she can print it from the sent folder with no issue.

It seems to me as though something is interfering with rendering, but there's nothing out of the ordinary about the email thread.  No attachments, a few inline logo images from one of the participant's company, and a small amount of colored text.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on this as I've looked around the web and found nothing even remotely similar in behavior.

Problems with Outlook 2013 and IMAP synchronization

Hi, I have been having problems with Outlook 2013 and synchronization of IMAP folders. When I open Outlook it works fine for 15-20 minutes and then Send/Receive for some of the IMAP accounts gets stuck. The task “Synchronizing subscribed folders for …” stays with “Processing” forever and never completes.

Subsequent Send/Receive actions do not retrieve new emails. I have to manually cancel the task that is stuck and then be able to receive new emails.

This behavior happened quite randomly, I haven’t been able to identify a pattern but it makes Outlook 2013 useless because I have to constantly check if the Send/Receive is stuck. I tried deleting and recreating my email accounts but this did not fix the problem.

Another odd behavior I am seeing is the Sync log issues. Again quite randomly Outlook 2013 will start synchronizing a folder and this will continue indefinitely. Within an hour the Sync Issues folder will get thousands of entries like this one:

13:15:07 Synchronizing Mailbox '…'
13:15:08 Synchronizing server changes in folder 'IvanL'
13:15:09 Done

It seems as if Outlook goes into a loop. After a restart it works fine for some time and then the above problems start happening again.

Cannot checkout any document on SharePoint 2013 without internet connection

Hi,

We have a network that is completely closed off from the internet. There is a sharepoint 2013 installation and we use office 2013. When we want to checkout a document in sharepoint through word or excel, we get an error that the server cannot be reached. There is also a problem with the contacts sync in outlook.

After a lot of testing we have come to the conclusion that this is a problem with office. You can see more details on the testing in this and in this topic.

I've posted this problem here because this is clearly a office problem and not a sharepoint problem. I hope somebody from the microsoft office team can have a look at this.

Office 365 & Giving Access to Users on their Mobile Phones

Hi all,

I seem to be having an issue around the configuration of allowing users to use their mobile phones, it seems it is all or nothing.

I simply want to create an access list of users who are allowed to use their 'Work' Mobile phone (iPhone or Android) to sync to Office 365 to collect their emails and block everyone else simply so they cannot add their Office 365 to their personal mobile phones.

We do not have a standard  set of phones, so adding a block or allowed list by phone type is not an option, so does anyone know of a way of doing this simply by user, or say creating an allowed user Group?

OCT Install with Office 2013 SP1: Lync and Skydrive Pro won't install.

I created a custom install file with OCT 2013 SP1 (setup /admin) and it is not installing all the office apps.   The install file is set to install every single Office 2013 apps.  Most of them seem to install (Access/PPT/Word./OneNote/Infopath/Excel/etc) but Lync and Skydrive Pro refuse to install.  I have everything set to "run from my computer" but it is still failing.  No errors pop up during the install.

- Office 2013 SP1 Proplus - just downloaded the ISO today.

- Office 2013 32-bit

- Win7 32-bit Enterprise

Any ideas?

Have upgraded to Office 2013 professional plus...it doesn't let me post my notes to One Drive. I have ried all options available on web such as setting some keys on office. none of them worked. Urgent help need to solve the problem
