I know that there are several people that have asked this question on other forums(ex.http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/a111e6d8-491f-449e-9b57-1b77f99e9aad/cannot-start-microsoft-outlook-unable-to-open-the-outlook-window-the-set-folders-could-not-be?forum=outlook).
The problem is that it has not worked for everyone, including me. I don't know if the difference is that some of us are using Windows 8 with Microsoft Office 2013, like me, or if there are other differences.
I have two error messages that come up. The first one is:
Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The file...is not an Outlook data file (.ost).
The second is:
The resource that you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange. Contact your e-mail administrator for assistance.
This is my bosses computer that has never had Outlook working before. We are also running Microsoft Exchange 2003 on a Windows 2003 SBS.
If there is any advice that you all could give me it would be much appreciated.
