I have a client who has installed Office 2013 on his PC which is going to replace 2007 which has been installed for some time. He uses a laptop running Windows 7 Pro joined to a domain. It's the only computer he uses.
The problem is that since it finished installing, whenever he opens one of the programs he gets a window opening for activation that says "Sorry we are having some temporary server issues".
I've seen and tried the following fixes. 1. There is an Office 15 registry subkey in HKCU that you can delete but this user doesn't have that subkey. 2. Put in a new activation key: his version is by Microsoft user account, no key used. 3. Reset IE: tried it, didn't work. 4. Repair Office 2013: tried it, both quick and long and neither worked.
I'm at the point where it seems I should uninstall then reinstall it. I don't know of anything else to try.
