When trying to create a Microsoft Query in an Excel 2013 file, why is the wizard not letting me see the file's tabs to choose from?

In an Excel 2013 file (student version), I am using the "getting from other source - Microsoft Query" function to create a dynamic list based on a table in my file.

First, I saved my file.

Then, in the Microsoft Query wizard,

1. I selected "New Data Source"

2. Gave a name

3. Selected the driver as being Excel (.XLX, .XLXS, .XLXM, .XLSB)

4.  Selected my opened workbook I am working with and that contains the table I want to refer to.  Made sure the EXCEL version selected was 12.0.

5.  This is where I get a blank for "select a default table for your data source". None of the tables are listed.  Later on it tells me that no tables are visible for that workbook.

I have tried another time in creating a simple dummy workbook with one small table.  It does the same thing.  MSQ does not see the table.

Why?  Does someone knows the fix to this?

Thanks in advance!
