Office 365 Small Business Premium

I have two customers who are considering migrating to Office 365 Small Business premium but I am having difficulty advising them what exactly they get for their subscription. Both already have registered domain names and websites hosted elsewhere and both have emails associated with these domain names. My questions are:-

  1. What type of email service comes with Office 365 Premium. Is it POP/Imap or hosted Exchange 2013?
  2. If they want to use their existing domain names for their Office 365 email do they have to transfer their Domain to Microsoft?
  3. If Not do they still have to point their domain at the Microsoft mail servers using ANames, MX records etc?
  4. If 3 above is true then presumably they have to migrate ALL their mail across to Microsoft 365. They cannot leave some existing accounts with the current domain hosting company and set up new ones at Microsoft 365? eg leaveinfo@somedomain.com and sales@somedomain.com  with the original Exchange hosting company and set upaccounts@somedomain.com with Microsoft 365

These may seem rather basic questions but the information on the CompareOffice 365 for business seems very sparse and lacking in detail. I tried to post a question on the Office 365 forum but you cannot log in with a standard Microsoft account but need an Organisational account which I don't have without signing up to Office 365 which seems an oversight by Microsoft!!!!
