PowerPoint Opens Very Slowly

We have a PowerPoint built in Office 2013.  If I open this PowerPoint (132 slides, 4 charts each) in Office 2013, it takes over 5 minutes to open all the slides.  If I open it using Office 2007, it takes 5 seconds.  I tried opening the PPT on several different machines with Office 2013 - same results – 5 minutes.  I copied the PPT to my home machine, with Office 2010 and it opened in 5 seconds.  These charts are not linked to any Excel files.

The 5 minute delay is that it slowly opens each slide and you can see the slides on the left side slowly appearing.

It’s the Excel for each chart – I opened the Windows Task Manager and Excel is using 20-29% CPU while the PPT is opening and as soon as the PPT is open all the way, Excel CPU dropped to zero.  You can tell it’s for each chart, as the CPU goes up and down, down to 20%, up to 26%.  I tried opening on the creation machine with 2013 and another machine with 2013 – same results - high CPU usage by Excel.

I tried this under both Windows 7 and Windows 8 - same results.

I tried the advice of one of your technical support people and it did not work:

Click on File > Options > Advanced and under the Display group of options make sure to check the options Disable hardware graphics acceleration andDisable Slide Show hardware graphics acceleration.
