Hi,
After having upgraded from Office 2010 to 2013, the Windows Search no longer searches the content in Outlook 2013 emails and attachments. After researching, found many hits where this feature has been deprecated, no longer a feature in 2013. I have read that you can have Outlook 2010 installed side-by-side with Office 2013, the Windows Search will then work as normal however when you click to open the item will open in Outlook 2010 - though no clear instructions are available on installing side by side, none that I could find.
I don't really want to install outlook 2010 side by side, will do if I have to or if I can... Does anyone have any solution to enable such a feature? I use to enter my search text in "Start->Search" field in Windows 7 and would include searching Outlook 2010 content, after upgrading to 2013 this cannot be done anymore. Is there any 3rd party connector for outlook and windows smart search? Any solution other than installing Outlook 2010?
Setup: Windows 8.1 x64, Office 2013, outlook profile configured to use local pst files...
Kind Regards
Jim
EDIT: To further clarify, I can search within Outlook 2013 context using the Search field, not able to search Outlook 2013 from the Windows Smart Search...
