Dear all,
I have set-up an Office365 account with a Education A2 for Faculty license and we have a on-premise AD and Exchange server. At this time I only want users to be able to login to Office365 to use the Office apps, also I have set-up DirSync to that user accounts and passwords can be synchronised from local AD to Azure AD. However I have a problem in that user accounts are synchronised with the Office365 domain suffix user@365xx@onmicrosoft.com I have added my public domain to Office365 but it is not the primary one.
If I go to Office365 and go to domains and select mydomain.com and select active and then change domain purpose I see three options: Exchange Online, Lync Online, SharePoint Online. If I select Exchange Online I get some details on what to change my MX to, however I want to keep my on-premise Exchange server.
Some further information - my internal AD users have the following UPN suffix - companyname.internal and I have read that this needs to be changed to mydomain.com for DirSync to sync the users with the public domain suffix, however I have almost 2000 users which need the suffix updated and if I find a way to mass-update this I am not sure if this will effect anything on the network, such as AD logins, shares, AD integrated apps such as exchange, sharepoint.
Can anyone help?
